Mold Tests & Demos

Sumitomo Plastics Machinery makes a wide range of its injection molding machines available in the U.S. and Canada for running mold tests and demos. In sizes from 20 to 385 tons, with shot sizes from 0.4 to 42.4 ounces, these machines include various high-performance, energy-efficient all-electric machine model sizes.

Many of the demo sites serve other important purposes. Sumitomo machines are currently supporting the training of tomorrow’s molders at:

  • The Erie PA branch of Penn. State University
  • Humber Institute of Advanced Technology, Toronto, Ontario
  • Precision Manufacturing Institute, Meadville, PA
  • University of Massachusetts – Lowell, Lowell, MA

Sumitomo also has injection molding machines in the following companies’ training and research centers:

  • RJG, Inc., Traverse City, MI (production and process control systems, cavity pressure sensing technology, and processing training)
  • Incoe Corporation, Troy, MI (hot runner system technology)
  • SABIC Innovative Plastics, Pittsfield, MA
