SR-D Series Rotary-Table Vertical All-Electrics
Sumitomo Plastics Machinery’s SR-D Series of all-electric rotary-table vertical injection molding machines is designed for insert and over-molded parts including automotive, electrical, medical, consumer product and other applications including thin-wall parts.
Offered in 55 and 83 US ton model sizes, the SR-D Series features:
- 180-degree table rotation in approximately 2.1 seconds for fast cycle times
- High-speed, low-vibration double toggle design provides optimum control for insert molding
- High speeds and pressures, including 300 mm/second injection velocity, that support a wide range of applications including parts with thin wall sections
- Sumitomo’s advanced direct-drive motor technology for precision and repeatability in which the set points and actual values are virtually indistinguishable from each other
- Results for shot weight accuracy and repeatability yield a typical deviation-to-mean ratio of less that 0.02%
- Dramatically reduced power consumption compared with hydraulic vertical machines, for quantifiable energy savings
- The ability to use pre-existing horizontal tooling, minimizing costs
